Statement of Faith
We Believe In:
The divine inspiration, complete inerrancy, and supreme authority of the sixty-six books of the Bible.
The only God who is one yet exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Being one, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal in deity, glory, and power.
Satan as a real spiritual being who was created by God as a magnificent angel but rebelled against God taking multitudes of angels with him. He is the ruler of the kingdom of darkness who has been defeated by Jesus when He died on the cross and was raised back to life. He and his kingdom are in conflict with Christ and His kingdom and will continue to be in conflict until the end of this age. At the end of the age, Satan will be cast into the lake of fire which has been prepared for both he and the angels who fell with him.
Hell as a real place and destiny for any person who does not place their trust in Jesus Christ and every spiritual being that has rebelled against God.
The value of every human being as an image bearer of God, designed to live in love and holiness but held captive from fully living this out by the disease of sin every man and woman since Adam and Eve have been born into. This disease of sin separates people from God, lies at the very core of a person’s being, and results in sinful actions and thoughts. Only the work of Jesus through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit can set people free from this condition.
Jesus Christ as God incarnate, fully God and fully man, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, was raised from the dead and ascended to heaven where He reigns eternally. By shedding His blood on the cross, Jesus conquered Satan’s kingdom and obtained for believers the forgiveness of their sins and eternal life.
Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The moment an individual puts their faith in Jesus they are filled by the Spirit of God and sealed for salvation. This filling of the Holy Spirit begins the process of Him empowering them to live out the nature and character of Jesus. Through the empowerment of the Spirit and obedience of the believer, the believer’s life begins to look like Jesus. This process is not complete until the day they die or the day Jesus returns, whichever comes first.
The Holy Spirit coming upon believers for acts of service within the Kingdom of God and as a witness to the presence of this Kingdom in the world today. This includes all the gifts of the Spirit listed in Scripture and any way the Lord sovereignly chooses to work through His people. God often waits to work in and through a believer’s life until He is invited to. However, there are times He chooses to do this without being asked. Believers cannot tell God when and how He will act but must instead humbly come before Him and persistently ask Him for His empowerment for ministry which is a heart attitude and request God loves to answer.
The calling of the people of God to make disciples of all nations. While doing this, the church is to reflect the heart of Jesus by seeking out the poor and ministering to their needs. Poverty includes the physically poor but also includes any place in a person’s life where there is a lack of the fullness of what God intended. This means people can experience poverty in their emotions, spirit, will, relationships, intellect, physical bodies, as well as their economic status.
The literal return of Jesus to earth to consummate His Kingdom. Believers should be taught about eschatology as both a hope for victory and a warning against turning away from or becoming indifferent to the Gospel just as Jesus and the apostles did in their teachings.
