Faith, Family and Football 2011

On June 13-18th, Ascent Ministries will launch “Faith, Family and Football” in response to the growing dilemma within Kansas City’s urban core:  increasing need and limited opportunities.  The camp will create a family atmosphere where urban youth experience positive male influence from coaches.  Establishing mentorship and long-lasting relationships following the camp will increase the long-term impact of the camp.

Mission:  Providing transformational opportunities and a growing sense of purpose in life through coaching, ongoing mentorship, and the love of Christ.

Vision:  Middle school youth developing character, life skills, healthy relationships, and a belief in Christ through the context of football within the urban core of Kansas City.

Purpose:  To meet the growing lack of solid male influence in urban areas of Kansas city due to fatherlessness, to fill the void of quality athletic programming available to low-income youth in Kansas City, and to introduce the love of Christ to young men.

Budget:  It will cost approximately $29,707 for the equipment, insurance, staffing, food, and rentals necessary to run this six day, tackle football camp.  To financially contribute to Faith, Family and Football, send donations to:
